John A. Ovia

Group Manager Human Resource & Administration

John was appointed Human Resources Manager in March 2010. Prior to working with FinCorp, John had worked with Eda Ranu, Fresh Produce Development Company and PNG Banking Corporation.

After completed his tertiary studies at the University of PNG in 1996 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Psychology, John joined the PNGBC in 1997 under their Management Graduate program and was seconded to the Human Resources Department. After working with the Bank, John undertook senior roles with Fresh Produce Development Company and Eda Ranu, enabling him to gain Marketing, Human Resources and Administrative Management experience.

With over 15 years of experience in Human Resources, Administration and Business/Marketing, John brings to FinCorp a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of Human Resources Management. John is a registered member with the PNG Human Resources Institute.

A keen sportsman, he has represented Port Moresby (Gaigai’s and Boroma’s) in rugby union matches at the national level.
